His talent was recognized through numerous awards from the City of Rochester for his meticulous maintenance of Pinnacle Place. His love for beautifying the world around him was matched only by his ability to find joy in the simplest pleasures, whether it was camping under the stars, decorating his home for holidays, or the tranquility he felt while birdwatching. His dog Gizmo was a treasured companion, sharing many adventures by his side.
John was also known for his playful spirit. As a jokester with a unique sense of humor, he brought laughter and joy to those who knew him, leaving a mark of happiness on everyone he encountered. He had a particular fondness for listening to his police scanner, reflecting his dedication to community service through his role in the Gates Police Auxiliary. Furthermore, he played a significant part in fostering youth sports by serving as a trainer for the Junior Amerks, sharing his love of hockey with younger generations.
He is survived by his brother James (Sharren), his sister Judy (Yong) Goldsworthy, his sister Jean Malone, and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Carolyn and Robert, and his brother-in-law, Ronald Malone.
