Johnny L. Gaines

Passed away on February 16, 2025 at the age of 96. 

Predeceased by his parents; sons, Otis Ivery & Johnny Lee Lathrop; brothers, Grady Gaines; sister, Mae Gaines.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Gaines; children, Peaches Gaines, Odean Fletcher, Deborah Ivery, La Rita Ivery, Janice Ivery, Janet Ivery, Dwayne Ivery, & Cornithias Ivery; a host of grandchildren & great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, & friends. 

Johnny’s favorite hobbies were fishing, and going to baseball games to see the New York Yankees play. Johnny was devoted to his faith as a Jehovah Witness and to his loving wife, Elizabeth Gaines.

Family will receive friends from 2-5pm on Friday, February 28th at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 6 Empire Boulevard.
