Matthew 6:21 “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”
Our beloved husband, father and friend Johnny Johnson departed this life on May 11, 2026 at the age of 86. Johnny was born in Leesburg, Florida to Mary Lou Allen and Reverend Johnnie Johnson on August 18, 1939. Johnny attended Jefferson and later worked at various companies during his life-time General Motors Delco Division, Chase Bank and the New York State Department of Transportation. And later as a visionary he used his skills in construction in his own business building beautiful custom cabinetry but his true heart was with his family.
We treasure his legacy of love for life and people that he demonstrated never meeting a stranger but always welcoming new friends. He kept a bright smile on his face even during the hard times and especially during his last days. He shared that as a young teen he gave his life to Jesus Christ and as he got older he enjoyed having a favorite place to meet God in his garage. He treasured spending his time there and reading his bible.
Johnny Johnson will be dearly missed by all who knew his passion for his relationships, his beautiful smile and wise counsel. He demonstrated that the best treasures in his life were relationships. We are grateful to have had his legacy of love and unselfish giving of himself that he left in the lives he touched.
His father Reverend Johnnie Johnson (Gainesville, FL), and mother Mary Lou Allen (Rochester, NY), preceded him in death along with his daughter Helen Hawthorne, Johnny, and Erik Johnson, his granddaughter Mary Louise Johnson and his Siblings Reverend Deloris Simpson (Stephen Simpson) and Walter Johnson along with two siblings who passed during infancy.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife and companion for over 67 years Margaret Johnson; his children Marian Washington, Vangelia (Junior) President, Synthia Wilson, Devery (James)Adair, Alberta Johnson, & Regina Randall; Niecey Barry many grandchildren, and great grands, nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
