PENFIELD- Joseph L. Cornish, 55, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 surrounded by the love of his family.

Joe was born in Rochester, NY to the late Clarence and Ella Cornish on December 21, 1965. On August 12, 2016 Joe married his long-time partner, Eric Clute. They were together for over 30 years. He was a loyal employee of Chase bank for 27 years, and was a member of the choir at St. John the Evangelist Church, on Humboldt Street. Joe will be remembered for his love of singing and acting. He performed in the Aquinas Follies/ACE and the Off Monroe Players.

Joe is predeceased by his brother Mark Cornish, and his brother-in-law John Schwartz.

He is survived by his husband Eric Clute, his sisters Carol (Tom) Mizelle, Diane (Peter) Burke, Elizabeth (Fran) Chalifoux, Inie, Fran, Ella, and Helen Cornish, beloved best friend Andy, his three dogs Cooper, Lilliana, and Henry, and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church, 553 Humboldt St, Rochester, NY 14610, on Monday, August 16, 2021 at 10am. Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 6 Empire Blvd., Rochester, NY 14609, on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 from 4:00pm-7:00pm.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Joe's name to Lollipop Farm, Off Monroe Players, Follies/ACE or American Heart Association.
