Gates: On Sunday August 14, 2011 at age 72. Joe passed away after a brief battle with cancer. He is loved by his wife of 52 years, Linda; son, Ronald Sr. (Karen) of Port St. Lucie, FL; grandchildren, Ronald Jr. and Kristina Perry; great-grandchildren, Anthony and Vincent; sister, Jean Routly; brothers, Arthur (Winnie) and Cookie (Marcia); also leaves many dear relatives, neighbors and friends especially Carmine Pelino, Dave Barney, Rick Goodyear and Auggie Chinappi.
Joe was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, brother and friend that anyone could ever hope for. He was a United States Army Veteran, marksman and hunter. He was highly skilled in mechanics and many trades. Joe made many wonderful friends while enjoying his favorite hobbies of fishing, target practice and hunting. Joe's sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to know him. His humor was present until the end.
There will be no prior calling hours. Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday August 17th at 9:30 AM at Holy Apostles Church, 530 Lyell Avenue. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider contributions to the Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center, 2652 Ridgeway Avenue, Rochester, NY 14626.
