With profound sadness and heartfelt remembrance, we honor the life of Josephine Marcella, who peacefully passed away on April 10, 2026, in her beloved hometown of Rochester. Born on June 17, 1937, Josephine's journey was marked by a deep faith, unwavering dedication, and a boundless love for her family and community.
A lifelong resident of Rochester, Josephine found her spiritual home as a devoted church person who loved the Lord with all her heart. Her faith was not only a guiding light for her own life but a beacon of hope and comfort to all who knew her. She cherished the moments shared with her children and grandchildren, drawing immense joy and strength from the bonds of family.
Josephine's professional life was distinguished by her time at the Eastman Kodak Company, where she contributed with diligence and pride. Beyond her career, she dedicated over two decades volunteering at Unity Hospital, a testament to her compassionate spirit and desire to serve others. This volunteer work stood among her proudest accomplishments, reflecting a life lived with generosity and kindness at its core.
She leaves behind a loving family who will carry her memory forward: her daughters Deborah Marcella and Lisa (Michael) Vincelli; her son Anthony (Katie) Marcella; and her sister Angela Basso (Lucas). Her legacy continues with her cherished grandchildren Michael (Rebecca) Vincelli, Nicole Vincelli (Matt), Sophia (Alex) Coull, Alicia Marcella, Anthony John (AJ) Marcella, and Benjamin Marcella. Her sister-in-law, Laurel Polizzi; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Josephine was preceded in death by her mother and father, Louis and Jennie (Gruttadauria) Polizzi, as well as her brother Louis Polizzi. Their memory remains etched in her heart, interwoven with the family story she so treasured.
