Benvenuto, Josephine P. (Aunt Josi) (Fico, Drew)

Rochester: July 4, 1915-April 28, 2012 at age 96. Predeceased by her parents, Ernesto and Susanna Benvenuto; sister, Nina Giardino; brothers, James, Nicholas and Joseph Benvenuto.

Throughout her life, Josephine cherished her family and friends. She is survived by her brother, Anthony (Lucy) of FL; sisters, Mary B. Fico and Jean M. Drew; many nieces and nephews.

Josi worked for her brothers at Benvenuto Bros. Wrecking Company on Lake Ave. for over 50 years. She was more than a secretary to them, as she supported them through all their endeavors. She has been a parishioner of Holy Cross Church for over 70 years and a member of the Holy Cross Choir. She enjoyed singing with them and it gave her great pleasure to participate with her church family. She was also very proud that she was a member of the first graduating class at Charlotte High School in 1933. She loved to get together with her family where she would often entertain them with music from her accordion and stories of days gone by. Josi was a very strong person who took pride in maintaining her independence. She was very much loved and will be greatly missed by her family and her many wonderful friends.

Friends and family may call Wednesday, May 2nd 4-8 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. Her Funeral Mass will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Church. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Cross Church, Lake Ave. or the School of the Holy Childhood.
