Julie C. Spinelli, of Pittsford, NY, passed peacefully on June 17, 2025 at the age of 75. She was surrounded with love and her family after a diagnosis of dementia.
Julie was raised in Bradford, Pennsylvania, and was one of 9 children to Vivian and Samuel Cucuzza. Julie has an endless love for her family, and she savored family birthdays, holidays and dining out with family and friends. She is so deeply loved by her family. She is known for being thoughtful, wise, caring, kind, practical, funny, fun, and loyal to her family, friends and clients. She was young at heart, and it is because she enjoyed channeling her inner-child. This part of her charm drew people towards her and rewarded them with life-long love and acceptance. Julie was also a nanny to many children throughout the years, shaping many lives.
Clean As A Whistle was Julie's cleaning business where she established relationships with many people. Her life was of service, she strove to help people. Democrat and Chronicle honored Julie as Carrier of the Year.
Julie was a woman of extraordinary vitality and strength. She approached life with an energy and tenacity that inspired everyone around her. Those who had the privilege of witnessing her dedication, understood that her physical pursuits were for improvements. She worked tirelessly to provide, demonstrating not only a profound sense of responsibility but also an unwavering love that would become legendary in the lives she touched.
Beyond her physical abilities, Julie was a wellspring of wisdom. Her wisdom was consistently displayed in her words and actions, as she led by example with her value of perseverance and hard work. Her life was a testament of love. She is a legacy that will forever resonate within the hearts of her family and the people that knew her.
Julie is devoted to God and has a close relationship with Him. Every Saturday, she had her own Sabbath, where she exclusively devoted her time to God. She loved studying the Bible and studying the meaning and origin of words and numbers, and enjoyed crossword puzzles and Boggle. She was innovative and crafty, and this lead to a passion of cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, and fiber arts.
Julie was devoted to and survived by her daughter of 54 years, Crystal; and her former husband, and father of her children, George aka, "George Spinner"; their 18 year old cat, Kayla; siblings, Rosalie Cobb, Daniel (Mary Kay) Cucuzza, Rita (Robert) Weiner, James (Justine) Cucuzza, Marcia (Joseph) Cloutier, Mary (Steven) Maggi, Susan Cucuzza, and Sally Plummer; and her fourteen loving nieces and nephews.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents, Vivian and Samuel Cucuzza; her treasured son, Peter Spinelli; mother and father in-law, Anne and Peter Spinelli aka "Anne and Duke Spinner"; brother-in-law, David Spinelli aka "Dave Spinner" and Paul Cobb; niece, Susan Christiansen; and beloved pets, Powderpuff, Donut, Jerome and Blithe.
Her daughter is most grateful for her immense, unconditional love and having taught her what's most important to God for people's lives. Julie always was true to herself, and made time to ensure that those around her are loved and felt loved.
She treated her former partner, George, with great love and care. She tried to help in anyway that she could and was always diligent and sweet. George returned the love and was ever so gracious. George and Julie were known as Jacy and Jane, and regularly performed at Runds Perinton in Rochester, NY. They sang together on the stage for 3 years. She loved to play the piano and was amazing at it.
Above all, Julie's journey throughout her entire life and her illness is heroic. Despite the disheartening path, she was always grateful and patient. Her strength through her final days was most award-winningly admirable and truly encompassed her character.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Saturday July 12, 2025 at Our Lady Queen of Peace, 601 Edgewood Ave. Rochester, NY 14618 (near the 590 overpass). Julie's Celebration of Life on Earth and Baptism into her Eternal Life beginning promptly at 12:30pm.
