Szczur, Katharina (Mechaniuk)
Rochester: God touched her hand and took her to Heaven on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015. She was predeceased by her husband, Dmytro. She is survived by her daughter, Julie Szczur-Duddy and son-in-law, Mikhail; son, Michael Szczur and daughter-in-law, Marianna; grandson, Anthony Inzana; granddaughters, Alexis Lelito and her husband, Jared, Halley Zummo, and Amber Duddy; grandson, Austin Luke Szczur; and great-grandson, Michael Inzana. She was born on the 22nd of November, 1926 in Rostoky, Ivano-Frankivska Oblast, Ukraine, to Luca & Vasylyna.
Katharina was an active member of St. Josaphat's Parish, St. Ann's Society, Soyuz Ukrainok Women's Organization, Ukrainian National Organization, and was a longtime employee of Eastman Kodak food service, working in many buildings around Kodak Park.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 3rd from 4-7 PM at the New Comer Funeral Home, 6 Empire Blvd. Katharina's Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 AM at St. Josaphat's Ukrainian Church, 940 Ridge Rd. East. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Josaphat's Church.
