Rochester, NY/Birmingham, AL: Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at age 90. Predeceased by her husbands, James Spencer Atkins and Robert F. Woods. She is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Deborah Atkins; granddaughters, Kathryn-Louise Atkins and Leslie Ann Stevens; great-grandchildren, Albert and Michael McKnight, Lauryn Jessica Dowdell; many nieces and nephews.
Kathryn was a member of the XI Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Nursing Sorority, a life long member of the Sardis Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL. where she served on the Macon-Dowdell Usher Board and was a member of the Young at Heart Seniors Group. She was an active member of the Sizzlin' Sisters Chapter of the Red Hat Society.
Family and friends may call Sunday, February 20th 4-6 PM at the New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. Her Funeral Service will be celebrated Monday, February 21st, 11 AM at the All Seasons Chapel at White Haven Memorial Park, 210 Marsh Rd. followed by Interment.
