Kevin Lamont Merritt

Kevin Merritt, 62, of Rochester, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the Aurora House in Rochester, NY.

Kevin was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of Shirley and James Merritt. He attended Penn State University, where he met his wife, Judith, and received a bachelor’s degree of science in mechanical engineering. He later earned an Executive MBA from RIT, and made Rochester, New York, his home, where he built a life centered on family.

Kevin dedicated 41 years to Xerox, where he was respected for his dedication, dependability, and easygoing sense of humor. Outside of work, he enjoyed playing basketball and was a proud member of the Bills Mafia. Most of all, he treasured time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Judith; his children, Ryan, Stephen, and Sydney; Ryan’s wife, Vivian, and Stephen’s wife, Beth; his grandchildren, Rosalie, Elijah, and Lucas; and his sister, Dawana Merritt Sterrette, and her husband Devereaux Sterrette.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Greece Assembly of God on Thursday, April 30th at 10:30 AM. 

Kevin will be remembered for his devotion to family, quiet strength, and the compassion he showed to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
