Laurie A. Beiswenger

February 21, 1942 — June 30, 2025

Laurie Anne (Davis) Beiswenger died at home in North Carolina on June 30, 2025. Laurie was born February 21, 1942 in Rochester, NY, the eldest child of Joseph and Anna (Stechna) Davis.

Laurie is survived by her devoted husband Jim of over 38 years, daughter Kristin Masline of Roanoke, VA, daughter and son-in-law Susan and Ted Dykes of Cody, WY, mother-in-law Patricia Beiswenger of Corning, NY, brother Joseph Davis of Ontario, NY, sister Christine Davis of Wolcott, NY, brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Donna Davis of Rochester, NY, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Thomas and Mary Beth Beiswenger of Corning, NY, Donald Beiswenger of Corning, NY, Daniel and Ellen Beiswenger of Dansville, NY, and multiple nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, father-in-law Robert Beiswenger, sisters-in-law Diane Davis and Mary Beiswenger, and nephew Nathan Beiswenger. Laurie and Jim were married on September 13, 1986 in Pittsburgh, PA. They had an enduring and true love that weathered many storms, especially in the last years of her life when she struggled with many health-related issues including an above the knee leg amputation in 2024. Despite all of the challenges, Laurie fought hard right up to the end. She was determined to walk again, but it was not to be. We are all comforted in the knowledge that she is now free of all pain and is safe in the loving arms of God Almighty.

Laurie loved her family with her whole being, and her pride and joy were her daughters and son-in-law. She was always there to support them, listen, provide advice (sometimes even when it was not requested!), and most importantly, to pray for them. She had a deep and abiding faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and that faith was demonstrated in her love for others with a listening ear and a kind word.

Laurie was a woman of many talents. Upon graduation from high school, she obtained her x-ray technician’s license and worked in that field for many years. Once her daughters came along, she worked in her home caring for children with a state licensed day care until her youngest daughter graduated from high school. After that she worked various jobs until retiring in 2004.

Laurie was extremely talented artistically. She played the piano and then took up the violin and cello in her 60s. She also painted, did etchings and macramé and had a keen eye for interior decorating.
