In Loving Memory of Linda J. Griffin
The family will receive friends 12-2pm Friday October 2, 2026 at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Ave., Rochster, NY 14626. Her Celebration of Life will begin promptly at 2pm in the chapel of the funeral home at 2pm following visitation.
Linda was born in Rochester, New York, to Sadie M. Banister and Thomas A. Banister Sr. She attended West High School and, upon graduation, continued her education at Bryant & Stratton College. She later met the love of her life, Stephen Griffin, and together they shared 55 wonderful years of marriage and were blessed with two children.
Linda dedicated many years of service to General Motors, where she worked in the Human Resource Department. She later continued her career at Strong Memorial Hospital in the Payroll Department.
Linda found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known for her love of cooking, watching cooking shows, enjoying game shows, and viewing countless reruns of Judge Judy. Her warm spirit, caring heart, and unwavering devotion to her family will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Linda entered eternal rest and went to be with the Lord on September 22, 2026 in Western New York National Cemetery in a private ceremony, Corfu, NY.
She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas A. Banister Sr. and Sadie M. Banister; and her brothers, Thomas A. Banister Jr. and Michael Banister.
Linda leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 55 years, Stephen E. Griffin Sr.; her son, Stephen Griffin Jr.; her daughter, Sonja Griffin; her four grandchildren, Brianna Brice (Marcus Brice), Jassiem Griffin, Jabril Griffin, and Jayla Griffin; and her great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Jassiem Griffin and Cameron Brice. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, other relatives, and dear friends.
Linda's legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:23
