Lindsay Nicole Jones, 43, of Rochester, NY, passed away suddenly on January 5, 2026, after a brief illness. Born on April 1, 1982, Lindsay was a cherished daughter, sister, and friend.
A lifelong avid sports fan, Lindsay followed numerous baseball, football, rugby, and soccer teams. Her educational journey included an Associate's Degree in Communications from Monroe Community College (MCC), which included a session abroad in London, and a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Broadcasting and Public Relations from Point Park University. While in college, she shared her passion for the game as an intern for Channel 13 WHAM Sports and the Rochester Red Wings. A graduate of Rush-Henrietta High School, Lindsay was also recognized by the Board of Education for her dedication to teaching Spanish and organizing activities for the Elementary Foreign Language Festival Series.
Professionally, Lindsay was an Ophthalmic Technician with a special interest in glaucoma, with over 15 years experience, including multiples years working at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Most recently, she was a valued team member at Retina Eye Associates of Western New York, where she was known for her extensive knowledge, expertise, and her positive, caring attitude toward her clients.
Lindsay is survived by her mother, Valerie Jones; her sister, Ashlie Jones; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is also lovingly remembered by her many colleagues and friends. Lindsay has been reunited with her father, Tyrone Jones; her grandparents, Karl and Liolla Jones; and Les and Beatrice Hultman.
A gathering of friends to celebrate Lindsay's life will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at St. Mark's and St. John's Church, 1245 Culver Road, Rochester, N.Y. A prayer service will follow immediately at 12:00 p.m.
For those wishing to send flowers, please have the florist contact the New Comer Funeral Home (Empire Blvd.) for specific delivery instructions. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lindsay's memory to Mental Health Association of Rochester, a non-profit organization she was actively involved with.
