Manolo Enzo Mateo

With hearts overflowing with both immense love and unfathomable sorrow, we share the passing of our precious Manolo Enzo Mateo, whose life, though brief, was filled with light, joy, and adoration. Born on December 28, 2025, Manolo blessed us all with seven months of radiant smiles and gentle giggles before departing this world on July 25, 2026.

From the very first day, Manolo was a beacon of innocence and happiness. His laughter—so easy and genuine—filled rooms and hearts alike. He was a very happy, giggly baby, and nothing delighted him more than the simple comfort of snuggles and the closeness of family. Every moment spent in his company was a blessing, deepening the bonds between those who cherished him. Manolo found special joy beside his beloved sister, Ailani Rose Mateo; together, they shared an unspoken understanding, a connection treasured by every member of the family.

Manolo’s adoration for his family shone brightest during the everyday moments. He loved watching his parents, Junior Jimi Mateo Jr. and Journie Irene Patterson, play and laugh with Ailani Rose, his eyes wide with wonder, his spirit alight with happiness. Whether caught up in his favorite shows or nestled safely among those who loved him, Manolo’s joy was contagious—he taught those around him to savor the smallest joys and to hold one another close.

A beloved son and the embodiment of hope and promise, Manolo’s presence was a gift to his devoted parents. His sister, Ailani Rose, will always keep his memory as a gentle companion in her heart. He is mourned by his adoring grandparents: Dawn Sutton, Jennifer Patterson, Carmelina Spahn-Mateo, and Junior Mateo Sr., whose boundless love enveloped him from the moment he arrived. Manolo’s great-grandparents, Sharon Perry, David Sutton, and Marta Valentin, along with a host of aunts and uncles—Julius Romolo Mateo, Tyler Patterson, Phylicia Sutton, Aliena Sutton, and Akeysha Patterson—will hold his memory close, honoring his sweet spirit in the quiet moments and family gatherings to come.

Manolo is also remembered by those family members who went before him: Harry Vasey, Irene Vasey, and his great-grandmother, Harriet Sutton. We take comfort in knowing that Manolo is wrapped in their love as well, embraced by generations who will keep him safe until we meet again.

The loss of Manolo leaves an ache in the hearts of all who knew him—and yet, his lasting imprint remains in every joyful giggle, every loving glance, every cherished memory. He taught us that even the briefest lives can be filled with immense meaning, and that love, once given, is never lost.

Family, friends, and all who wish to celebrate Manolo Enzo Mateo’s precious life are invited to attend the following services. A viewing will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, Westside, 2636 Ridgeway Ave, Rochester, NY 14626. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM at the same location. Manolo will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 2461 Lake Avenue, Rochester, NY 14612, at 1:00 PM.

Though his time with us was all too short, Manolo’s memory will shine on—forever cherished, forever loved.
