Margaret “Peggy” M. (Clifford) Paradis, aged 81, died peacefully on January 26th. She was born July 9, 1944, in Weymouth, Massachusetts to Paul and Margaret (Early) Clifford. She is survived by her loving husband, Bruce Paradis, daughter Tracy L. Paradis, and sons Paul D. Paradis and Brian D. (Helen) Paradis.

Peggy was a sweet, shy, and generous soul who is remembered by many for her kindness, commitment to helping others, love of her family and her faith.

She grew up in Braintree, Massachusetts, the eldest of eight children. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Weymouth and went on to study for two years at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital School of Nursing at Northeastern University in Boston. She married Robert Bruce Paradis in 1967 and their daughter, Tracy was born in April of the following year. Soon after, the small family moved to El Dorado, Arkansas where they added sons (and “Irish twins”) Paul and Brian. Later moves eventually brought her family to New York State; first to Hoosick Falls and eventually, to Henrietta where she and Bruce have made their home for the past 45 years. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy and she cherished every moment she was able to spend with Marysia, Lauren, and Connor Paradis.

Raised in a bustling city, Peggy embraced her new country homesteading way of life, learning how to garden, raise, keep, and prepare chickens, rabbits, and other animals, and canning. She did this all while being a stay-at-home mom to three babies in diapers. She was clever and creative, loving to sew, crochet, quill, do ceramics, and craft in many other ways. She created beautiful handmade gifts that friends and family treasure still.

Her family and faith were always the center of her heart, but she had a big heart and was always concerned for the welfare of others. She donated time and funds to many charities, often focused on children in need, homelessness, and hunger. For many years after retiring, she provided transportation to medical visits for seniors in her local community. Deeply committed to Jesus, she studied her Good News Bible, meditated regularly on scripture, and served as a Eucharistic minister for many years.

Her professional career as a secretary/clerk began when she worked for John Hancock in downtown Boston. While her children were young, she often provided childcare for other families and eventually began working outside of the home part time. She worked for Rush Henrietta Central Schools’ IMC unit (A/V media) for 8 years, and finally Monroe County Dept of Social Services from where she retired in 2010 after 20 years of dedicated service.

She was sister to Maureen F. (Paul) Dow of East Bridgewater, MA, Joseph “Timmy” (Ellen) Clifford of Blackstone, MA, and Elaine B. (John) Mullins of Hanson, MA. and was predeceased by her sister Kathleen J. “Kathy” Clark of East Bridgewater and brothers Paul “Danny” Clifford of Braintree, Kevin Clifford of Orlando, FL, and Thomas R. “Tommy” Clifford. She leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.

There will be a small, private service for the family on Thursday, January 29, 2026. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Patrick Place Comfort Care Home, where Peggy received wonderful care in her final days.
