Margie (Washington) Warren

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Margie Warren, who departed this life on Friday, July 31, 2026.

Margie was born January 24, 1948 in Magnolia, Mississippi to the late Willie Washington, Sr. and Lorice Felder Washington. She was the oldest of 10 children. The family resided for a short time in Hammond, Louisiana and later returned to Magnolia where she attended Eva Gordon High School where she met Alton Warren, the love of her life of almost 59 years. Their union was celebrated on November 27, 1967. Not long after, Margie and Alton relocated to Rochester, NY where they settled down and began their life together. From their union, they had 3 children Keith, Keshia, and Treva.

Upon their relocation, Margie worked as a nurse at Rochester General Hospital and the Rochester Psychiatric Center before beginning a career at 3M Company, where she worked from more than 20 years.

Margie dedicated her life to her family and career. She loved spending time with loved ones, enjoyed catching up with friends and gardening. She instilled outstanding family values to her children and grandchildren, which is how she earned her matriarch title. Margie was known for her phenomenal cooking and baking skills which she passed down lovingly and with pride to her daughters and granddaughters. She had a strong work ethic that made her very proud, having high standards that she passed on to her children as well. Faith was the foundation of Margie’s life which she leaned on heavily during her health challenges. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and a member of the Greece Assembly of God church in Greece, NY for many years.

She leaves to cherish her husband, Alton and their 3 children, 6 grandchildren (Kiara, Nadia, Tyra, Chynna, Keith Jr. and Chase) and 3 great-children (Justin Jr., Kamden and Taylor) along with a host of family and friends.
