It is with great sadness I, along with my brothers' and sister, announce the passing of our beloved Mother, MaryAnne Pankrath on Thursday, July 17th after months of battling post surgical complications and illnesses.
She died quickly and peacefully as I held her hand. All while listening to one of her favorite songs, Ava Maria, as she took her last breath.
Our mother was born December 24th 1941, in Rochester, NY. She was a devout Catholic and a devoted wife, mother, friend, daughter, and even as a sister to her first cousins, of whom were ultimately raised by her mother (Estelle Kinn) from very young ages.
Church, family, friends and being a wife to our father were most important to her. She raised us all and shared those values with all who came to know her.
Our mother was a kind and accepting person. She always had room at her kitchen table for anyone to visit, to laugh and sometimes to cry! She had an ear for them to talk and a soft voice for comfort. She will surely be missed, and will always be in our memories as a strong and compassionate woman.
Predeceased by her husband, William Pankrath; her parents, Edward G. and Estelle H. Kinn; and cousins, Robert G. White and Francis G. White Sr.
She is survived by her loving children, Robert Pankrath, Kathleen DeCann, Michael Pankrath, Joseph (Liana) Pankrath, and Maria (William) Law; her cousin, Marcelline Brunswick; grandchildren, Heather, Riley, William Jr. IV, Henry, Aaron, and Aidan; and one great-grandchild, Vivienne.
Calling hours will be 4 pm to 7 pm on Wednesday, July 30th, at New Comer Funerals and Cremation. 6 Empire Boulevard, Rochester, NY 14609.
Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 am on Thursday, July 31st at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 296 Flower City Park, Rochester, NY 14615 with Cemetery processional directly following at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
