Listen to Obituary

Passed away on, October 11, 2025 at the age of 83.

Predeceased by her parents, Henry J. and Helen Hunt.

She is survived by her sons, Michael D. (Laura Summers) Getty and Jonpaul L. (Laurie) Getty; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Dan) Zotian, Jack Getty, David Summers, Justin (Catherine Mest) Getty, Anthony Getty, and Matthew Getty; great-grandchildren, Arthur, Nolan, and Blake; siblings, Geraldine Brooks, Eileen Walsh, Charlene Canaway, and Barbara Miller; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Maureen was an avid knitter and crocheter. She enjoyed making sweaters, blankets, hats, scarves, and jackets for herself and her family. Not only did she share her designs with her family, she also loved baking with bourbon. "Don't worry, it all cooks off!" She loved to share her trades of cooking and canning to her family. Her family was the most important thing to her. She did everything she could to raise them with love and prepare them for life. She spoiled everyone! Family games were the best with her, everyone will miss her winning laugh and her streak of competitiveness and luck. Christmas time was also a joy with her. Her tree was radiant with 1000s of lights and ornaments. She meticulously placed each string of lights and ornaments with great care. It was a sight to behold. And her Elvis obsession was also something that those close to her knew about. She loved Elvis and his music since she was a little girl.

She was loved by her family and close friends. She will be greatly missed.

A gathering will be held on Tuesday, October 14th from 4-7 at the Family Home.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition and hospitalized veterans.
