Michael A. Abrams

Michael Abner Abrams, age 64, passed away on March 10, 2026. Born May 15, 1961, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of Mary Alice Abrams and Abner Dan. Michael attended Thomas M. Cooley High School and grew up cherishing memories of Detroit, including trips to Belle Isle and his lifelong love of music.

Michael later relocated to Rochester, New York, where he worked various jobs, including construction alongside his brother Elisha Abrams. He had a deep love for cats, especially his beloved Furball and Stank, and enjoyed jazz music, crossword puzzles, and building model cars.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Elisha Abrams; and his sisters Mary Anna Brown and Janice Abrams. Michael leaves to cherish his memory his sisters Helen Thompson and Etta “Tippy” Gantt of Detroit, MI; his brother Raoul Abrams of Mobile, AL; his aunt Lillie Platt of Livingston, NJ; along with many nieces, nephews, friends from The Gardens at Penfield Square, and his special friend, Laura “Annie” Davis.
