Predeceased by his son, Michael G. Gunkel III.

Survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Ruby and LeAnn Gunkel. Sister, Janevra Shelton. Mother, Deborah Rowe and Michael G. Gunkel Sr. Long time life partner, Estela Comas. The children's mother, Heather Gunkel. Many aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends.

The family will receive friends 12-3pm Saturday December 13, 2025 at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. (GREECE LOCATION). In lieu of flowers, friends may make contribution to The American Kidney Association in memory of Mike.
