Michael A. Walz

Michael A Walz, 77, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2026 at Premier Genesee Facility in Batavia where he had been a resident for several years.

Born to Lois Matthews Walz and Albert G Walz, on August 23, 1948 in Rochester. He lived his early life there with family. Following the death of his parents, he lived in the Monroe Ave neighborhood while working at the Regional Transit Service office. He enjoyed walking the Avenue, taking the bus to Barnes & Noble, and spending time with friends at Gitsis Restaurant.

Michael was widely read, and enjoyed expanding his extensive library. He especially enjoyed nature and the environment, sharing his grandfather’s passion.

He is survived by uncles, cousins, and friends.

There are no calling hours. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery at the convenience of family.

The family is grateful for the excellent care provided by the doctors, nurses and staff of the Premier Genesee Rehab and Nursing Facility.
