Mollie Turk Greene Rice
Formerly from Ithaca, died at the Journey Home on March 28th, 2013. Mollie was born in Ithaca on December 5th, 1923 to the late John and Ina Turk. She retired from the Ithaca City School District where she worked for many years. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Walter Greene, and her second husband, John "Jack" Rice. She is also predeceased by a son, William "Bill" Greene; stepson, Ronald "Ron" Rice; sister, Gertrude Russell; brother William "Bill" Turk. She is survived by her daughter Sue (Chuck) Garrett of Rochester; brothers, Richard (Agnes) Turk, J. Robert (Verna) Turk; sister-in-law, Dolores Turk as well as nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren amd four great-great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was a life member of the VFW Post 961, Loyal Order of Moose 666, and Fraternal Order of the Eagles 1253. Prior to moving to Rochester, she lived at Titus Towers for 15 years, where she spent her best hours playing bingo and cards with some very special friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at Spencerport Bible Church, 1948 N. Union Street, Spencerport, NY 14559 on Sunday April 14th at 1:00 PM. A Graveside Service will be held at Eastlawn Cemetery, 934 Mitchell St., Ithaca, NY 14850, on Tuesday, April 23rd, at 2:00 PM.
