Wheeler, Nancy I.

Webster: Passed peacefully Monday, August 3, 2015, at age 84 with her family at her side. She was predeceased by her son, Stephen J.; She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jim; daughter, Wende (Daniel) Copeland; daughter-in-law, Barbara Wheeler; grandchildren, Katy (Greg) Barker, Matthew and James Wheeler, Victoria (Mike) Crane, Christopher (Erica) Copeland, Rebecca (Randy) Langford; great-grandchildren, Emma-Kate and Drew Barker, Brianna and Gavin Copeland; sister, Ina Orr; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Nancy was active in the craft world. At one time she taught rug hooking at home and the in the Webster Adult Education Program. She taught sewing in a local fabric store covering a wide variety of patterns. Lately she supported a Motorcycle Santa Claus charity effort with an annual contribution of many pairs of knitted mittens of various sizes and colors. During the Vietnam conflict she made several trips to Saigon working in the nurseries for abandoned children. When returning home she escorted babies for adoptive couples in Europe, Canada and America. Leading a fund raising effort here was a favorite activity speaking at local church as opportunities arose.

Nancy's Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 6th at 9:15AM at St. Rita's Church, 1008 Maple Dr., Webster. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the West Webster Fire Dept.
