Nancy Ann Lennox

February 5, 1948 — April 14, 2025

Rochester, New York

Passed away on April 14, 2025 at the age of 77 at St. Johns Home.

Predeceased by her parents, Leon D. White Jr. & Georgiana S. White; sister, Susan White.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Robert Wayne Lennox II; daughter, Meredith Elizabeth (Steven) Fries; son, Zachary Steven (Rayaunna) Lennox; granddaughter, Dylan S. Lennox; sister-in-law, Jennifer Moeykens; niece, Elizabeth (Corey) Thacker; and many special friends.

Nancy’s journey through life was marked by her unwavering dedication to education, faith, and the love of family.

For many years, Nancy resided in Troy, Michigan, where she touched the hearts of her students while teaching history at Royal Oak High School in Royal Oak, Michigan, where she created lasting memories. Her passion for learning and her ability to inspire were gifts that she freely shared, leaving a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to be in her classroom.

Later in life, Nancy moved to Rochester, New York, where she served her Lord and Savior as the Executive Administrator at the Church of the Ascension for over a decade. Her spiritual journey didn't stop there, as she played pivotal roles in other congregations, including serving as a strong spiritual instrument and manager at Christ Church Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and the Church of Our Saviour in San Gabriel, California. Nancy’s faith was a guiding light in her life, influencing not only her own path but also the lives of countless others within her church communities.

Cooking was one of Nancy's greatest loves—a passion she carried deep within her heart. She cherished the moments spent in the kitchen, especially when creating meals for her family. Nancy believed that nothing tasted perfect without the oldest tools in hand, and she often imparted the wisdom of “Watch & learn” to her children, teaching them the cherished tricks of the culinary trade. These memories will forever be woven into the fabric of her family's life, a legacy of love served on plates of delicious food and shared experiences.

In addition to her devotion to her career and family, Nancy had a profound love for animals throughout her life. Her companionship with her two beloved dogs, Kona and later Ruby, showcased her gentle spirit and the warmth she extended not just to humans but to all that came into her life.

Nancy was also a skilled quilter, an artistic expression that reflected her creativity and attention to detail. Her quilts, lovingly crafted, were more than just fabric and thread; they were expressions of her love.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at St. John's Home for their compassionate care and support while Nancy was a resident there. Their kindness allowed her to feel valued and loved in her final days.

Though Nancy has left us in body, her spirit and love will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. She will be dearly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. Nancy’s life was a beautiful tapestry of shared stories, spirituality, family traditions, and cherished friendships, each thread colored by her kindness, laughter, and love.

A Celebration of Life will be held this summer.
