Gates: Friday, August 16, 2013. Predeceased by parents, Patrick F. Egan and Hyacinth Egan; brothers, Thomas (Alice,) William; sisters, Helen (Joseph) Hogan and Mary Lou (Richard) Henry.

Survived by daughter, Pamela, whose help allowed him to be independent; sons, Stephen, Kenneth, Jeffrey (Kelly), Blane (Deborah), and Quintin (Christine) and the Mother of his children, Elizabeth Nothnagle Egan; grandchildren, Laurel, Jessica, Rebecca, Alethea, Sarah, Indigo, Max, Lucas, Jacob, Katelyn, Patrick, Samantha, Ryan and several great-grandchildren; brothers, Edwin (Dorothy), Hon. David (Joan) Egan; sister, Hyacinth Seltzer; sister-in-law, Barbara Egan Montrallo; nieces, nephews; horse racing friends and partners; cousin, Max McCarthy; good friends, Jim Elam, Dick Lanseer, Jerry Bugaj and his cousin Fred; dear friend, Judy Hanson; and his indispensible secretary of over 32 years, Sandra Burnham.

Patrick graduated from Aquinas Institute, University of Windsor, and Brooklyn Law School. He was a member of the bar since 1954 and was a practicing attorney for over 59 years. He was elected President of his law school senior class.

He was a United States Navy veteran who served his country during WW II and participated in the invasions of Iwo Jima and Okinowa.

He was formerly a town judge in the Town of Gates and was a former leader of the Gates Town Democratic Party. Patrick was a past member of the Board of Directors for St. Joseph's Villa.

His hobby was owning and racing thoroughbred horses with various partners. He was a past member of the Board of Directors of the Genesee Valley Breeder's Association and was on the Board of Directors of the New York Breeder's Association.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Westwood Commons and his Lifetime Care nurse, Lucy Engert-Chambry.

A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 22nd at St. Pius the Tenth Church, 3010 Chili Ave.

At Patrick's request there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to:
