Paul J. Duchyns

Paul Duchyns, age 73, of Hilton, New York, passed away surrounded by his loving family.Born and raised in Hilton, Paul spent his life deeply connected to the people and community he loved. He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Sophie Duchyns.

Paul built a respected career as a financial consultant with ESL Federal Credit Union, where his honesty, calm wisdom, and genuine care for others left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He had a gift for earning people’s trust - not through big words or grand gestures, but by being himself - dependable, thoughtful and true to his word.

But above all else, Paul was a family man. Nothing mattered more to him than his wife and children. He was the steady center of his family - a devoted husband and a proud and loving father. His greatest happiness came from time spent with them, whether it was on FaceTime, sharing a recipe or meal, lending advice or a shoulder, or simply cherishing each other’s company.

He found joy in spending time on the family farm, a place that gave him a deep sense of pride and fulfillment. He especially loved working the fields during hay season, watching as the bales stacked up and the barn gradually filled. Farming kept him active and grounded, offering a meaningful connection to the land he cared for.

Paul is survived by his loving wife, Sherry; his children Lauren Linville and Jarett Duchyns; siblings Bonnie Weidenkeller, Charlene Picioli and Tom Duchyns; and several nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as many dear friends.

He will be profoundly missed, but the love, laughter, and lessons he shared will live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

The family will receive friends 3:30-7pm Monday October 20, 2025 at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. ( west of Long Pond Rd.) On Tuesday morning a Memorial service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home at 11 am.
