With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Paul Faker, who passed away peacefully at home on July 12th. Paul was able to enjoy his last days in the comfort of his home surrounded by family and friends thanks to the support and care the U of R Hospice team provided. Our family lost a devoted husband, loyal father and fun-loving grandfather.
Paul is predeceased by his parents Paul and Victoria Faker, sisters Barbara Meli and Kathryn Vogt, in-laws Harry and Marguerite Eggleston, brother-in-law James Eggleston and sisters-in-law Margaret Piecuch and Marie Eggleston.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Carol Faker, sons Paul (Sherry) Faker, Ryan Faker, daughter Sarah (Bob) Switzer, grandchildren Cassady and Coleman Faker, Landon Bryan and Kinley Switzer, sister Patricia Biorde, sister-in-law Patricia (Gary) Kelpin, many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Paul attended Aquinas Institute and started a job at Kodak upon graduation. In 1986 he fulfilled his dream of starting his own company with ADKO Printing. He ran a successful business where his sons got to work alongside of him for years.
Paul was a wonderful husband and father and the best Grandpa and Papa. He cherished his time spent with family and friends. His favorite pastimes were golfing, hunting, fishing, walking and reading. Those who knew him knew that sitting on the sidelines watching his grandkids play soccer, baseball, basketball, football and hockey and cheering them on was what he loved most of all.
Our fondest memories of Paul are of him cooking his famous breakfasts for his whole family, playing competitive family board games, making his presence known in the stands at his grandkids sporting events and enjoying trips with his wife and many friends.
Paul’s life story will be shared at his visitation on Wednesday July 30th from 1-4pm at the funeral home. A prayer service will take place at 4pm immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Paul's honor to: Golisano Children's Hospital or The Janeen Bartlett Bruhn Memorial Scholarship Fund at St. Bonaventure University- type “Janeen Bartlett Bruhn Memorial Scholarship” under Support another designation. This scholarship will be presented to a female athlete who displayed the qualities Janeen held dear.
