Peter M. Russo, Esq.
Rochester: Passed peacefully surrounded by loving family Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at age 71 after a brief illness. Dedicated husband, father and grandfather. Predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Sarah Russo. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Betty A. (Marella); daughters, Lauren (Doug) Reber, Krista (Kevin) Penberg; grandson, Quincy Penberg; sister, Meline (Richard) Hall; nephew, Aaron (Heather) MacPherson; sister-in-law, Jean Villa; nephews, Jim and David Villa; niece, Donna (Marc) White; aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends, Claude and Joanne Smoyer, Hans and Jeanne Kurzik, Len and Lynne Franklin.
A special thanks to Dr. Ronald Sham and the staff of the Hematology and Oncology Floor of Rochester General Hospital for their support and loving care.
Peter was a graduate of Aquinas Institute, St. John Fisher and University of Buffalo Law School. He was a member of the New York Sate Bar Association since 1965 and a Senior Partner at Remington, Gifford, Williams & Colicchio LLP for 34 years. Peter was a charter member and soloist with The Irondequoit Chorale. He was on the Board of Directors and Legal Counsel for Blackfriars Theatre and acted and directed in various community theater organizations.
Peter enjoyed many hobbies including fine wood crafting, gourmet cooking, golf, travel, hunting, fishing and boating. He was a wine enthusiast and avid reader. Peter was a member of Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha of St. Cecilia's.
NO PRIOR CALLING HOURS. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:15 AM Friday September 30, 2011 at Church of the Assumption, 20 East Ave., Fairport.
