Peter "Pete" Shearn, born on October 24, 1960, in Philadelphia, PA, graced this world with his infectious smile and warm spirit until his passing on December 3, 2025, surrounded by his family in the comfort of his home. Throughout his 65 years of life, Pete made a lasting impression on all those he met.
Pete had a fulfilling career as a civil engineer with the New York State Department of Transportation, where he not only dedicated himself to his engineering projects but also forged countless friendships along the way.
A devoted family man, Pete found pure joy in spending time with his beloved wife, Joanne, and their children, Kendall and Connor. Family was at the heart of everything he did, and he cherished the moments spent together, whether celebrating holidays or simply enjoying lazy weekends filled with love and laughter. He often expressed how proud he was of Kendall and Connor, finding immense happiness in their achievements and daily lives.
Pete had a variety of interests that brought him joy beyond work and family. He was an avid golfer who relished both the thrill of the game and the camaraderie it brought with friends. His heart belonged to the Philadelphia Eagles, and he was a dedicated fan who celebrated every touchdown.
Pete is survived by his loving wife, Joanne; his cherished children, Kendall and Connor; his brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Danni Shearn and nephew, Nick, his step-mother Kathleen Broderick, his sisters-in-law, Linda Ryan and Nancy (Jeff) Mac Phee, along with his nieces, Kayla (Tony) Wing, Brenna (Justin) Pollock, and their children.
His parents, Terrance and Dolores Childs Shearn preceded him in death.
Though he will be dearly missed, Pete leaves behind a legacy of love and friendship, that will forever inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A life may end, but the love and memory live, you will never be forgotten.
