Went home to be with the Lord Thursday, May 12, 2011 at age 85 with his family by his side. Predeceased by his wife, Caroline and parents, Enrico & Mary Tomasso; brother, Tony Thomas. He is survived by his children, Phillip Jr. (Patty), Peter (Lorraine), Carol, Henry (Angela); grandchildren, Phillip III, Peter (Ada), Mary Jean, Paul Tomasso, Lorrie (Dave) Berry, Carolyn (Tom) Shortino, Joelle, David (Shawna), Daniel (Kristiana), Josiah Tomasso, Zachary (Lisa), Joshua Shepherd; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Salimano, Carmella "Tubby" (Joe) DiMaria; brothers, Abelo (Agnes), Dom (Angie) of AZ; sisters-in-law, Josephine Amadio, Gina Cordar of NV, Fannie (Sal) Mattiucci of NV; special niece, Marie Bianchi; best friend, John Ricco.
Phil served in the US Coast Guard during WWII and retired from the United States Post Office.
Special thank you to the staff at Unity Health 2nd floor 2200 for their loving care and compassion.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 9 AM Saturday at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 296 Flower City Park, Rochester.
