Rochester:
Passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on Thursday, June 9th, 2016 at the age of 68.
Predeceased by his parents, Christos and Athena, sister Despina, brothers Michalis and Stergios, father-in-law, Konstantinos Gonatidis and mother-in-law, Maria Gonatidou.
Survived by his loving, devoted wife, Efthimia, beloved sons, Christopher, Dino (Danielle), and Valanti, sister Flora of Greece, brother, Nikolaos (Dina) Marou, brother Giannis (Evangelia) of Greece, sister, Soultana Strembenis, brother-in-law Christos Gonatidis of Greece along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pierre was born on December 4th, 1947 in Drosopigi, Florinis, Greece. He earned his degree in law from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Pierre immigrated to the United States in April 1973 and settled in Rochester. He owned and operated the Orange Monkey in the 1970's. He married his wife, Effie, on November 20, 1985. He worked tirelessly to support his family and will forever be remembered as a generous and loving husband, father and friend. Pierre was a proud member of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation and Drosopigi Society.
Friends may call at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, 962 East Avenue, Monday June 13th 2016, from 9am to 11am, a funeral service will immediately follow at 11am. Interment will be at Ascension Garden Catholic Cemetery,1900 Pinnacle Rd, Henrietta, NY 14467 , Henrietta.
