With profound sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Rachel Nishijima Skowron, who tragically left us on her 27th birthday, April 20th, 2025. Born on April 20th, 1998, Rachel was a vibrant light whose life was extinguished far too soon.
Rachel was a true lover of beauty in all its forms. Her passions included the captivating world of art, the comforting ritual of a perfectly brewed cup of coffee, and the quiet companionship of books and her beloved plants. Her heart overflowed with affection for animals and the wonders of nature, finding solace and inspiration in the natural world.
Above all else, Rachel's calling was to uplift and care for those around her. She possessed a sweet spirit and a beautiful soul, touching countless lives with her inherent generosity and kindness. Her infectious sense of humor brought joy to every encounter, and her deep love for family and friends was unwavering. Rachel's faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she passionately sought to live in a way that honored God.
Rachel leaves behind her parents, Brian L Skowron and Mary Ann Skowron, and her sister, Elizabeth Y Skowron. She will also be deeply missed by her cherished uncles, aunts, cousins and her beloved fur babies, Mittens and Pepper.
A memorial service to celebrate Rachel's life will be held on Friday, May 9th at 6:00 PM at The Father's House Chapel, located at 692 Paul Road, Rochester, NY 14624.
In honor of Rachel's deep connection to nature, the family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Arbor Day Foundation, an organization dedicated to planting trees and fostering environmental stewardship.
Rachel's sweet spirit, radiant smile, and boundless love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will forever bloom in our hearts, and we will love and miss her for the rest of our lives.
