Gates: Passed January 17, 2014, at age 79. Born on Bainbridge Island, Washington. Predeceased by his sisters, Jeanette Vert and Lucille Hoskins.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Carol; children, Karrie (Jamie) Schoenmaker, Laif Hanson, Kristen (John) Shakeshaft; grandchildren, Erika and Brett Hanson, Taylor and Alex Shakeshaft; brother, Earl (Norma) Hanson; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Rey worked 36 years for American Can Co. in Seattle, Baltimore and Fairport. After retiring, he drove school bus for 6 years in Fairport. Rey was a loving husband, father and a caring neighbor.
Family will receive friends, 4-7:30 PM, Tuesday at New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Ave.
