Robert R. Chapin

Robert R. Chapin, lovingly known as Bob, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at the age of 91.

Bob was born on August 17, 1933, in Rochester, NY. He was predeceased by his parents, Edmund and Helen Louise Chapin; his beloved wife of 43 years, Audrey Chapin; and his siblings, William Chapin, Lorraine Grosskopf, Dorthy Hake.

He is survived by his four children: Diana Chapin, Michael (Marcy) Chapin, Robert D. (Deborah) Chapin, and Steven (Johanna) Chapin; his siblings, Edmond W. Jr. and Helen Bonin. Bob was a proud Papa to nine grandchildren: Rick (Jenny) Vanepps, Tara Vanepps, Michelle Chapin, Christopher Chapin, Jennifer (Justin) Ocello, Jessica (Robert) Alcorn, Mikayla Chapin, Gabrielle (Jake) Jablonski, and Cameron Chapin. His legacy continues through his fourteen great-grandchildren: Austin, Victoria, Tyler, Logan, Gracie, Paige, Ty, Benjamin, Olivia, Amelia, Jaxson, Reagan, Rhett, and Luka.

Bob's greatest joy in life was his family. He treasured every moment spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His love and presence will be felt for generations to come.

Professionally, Bob worked as a dedicated truck driver for Kodak until his retirement in 1991. His strong love for the trucking industry was reflected in his active involvement with Monroe County REACT for many years.

The Chapin family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate team at Hildebrandt Hospice Center for their exceptional care and support.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 3-6 PM, followed by a memorial service at 6PM, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue, Rochester, NY 14626.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to be made in Bob’s memory to a charity of your choice or to Hildebrandt Hospice Center in honor of their exceptional care.
