Robert J. Hanson
Mr. Robert James "Papa", "R.J.", "Uncle Bob", "Bob" Hanson entered this world on August 26, 1940 and peacefully left us all after 76 years, at home surrounded by his family and friends, on July 10, 2017. Predeceased by his parents, Robert and Elizabeth Hanson and brothers, John and Richard Hanson. Bob is survived by, his loving wife of 46 years Janice (DelGaizo) Hanson, son James (Sarah), of Franklin, TN, and daughter Meredith (Anthony) Meyer, of Hilton, NY. He leaves behind six grandchildren; Jacob, Leonard, Dylan, Natalie, Charles, and Sophie. Bob is also survived by sisters Carol (Richard) Dabrowiak of Sacramento, CA, Susan (William) Russell of Chicago, IL, Nancy (Dane) Medina of Sacramento, CA, brother Thomas (Dena) Hanson of Chicago, IL, Sister-in-law Linda (Jon) DelVecchio, and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Friday July 14 from 4-7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home at 2636 Ridgeway Ave. A funeral mass will be held at St. Pius X church on Saturday, July 15, at 9:30am. Memorial gifts should be made to the Scott Spino Foundation (www.scottspinofoundation.org) or the Greater Rochester Chapter of the National Parkinson's Foundation (www.npfgreaterrochester.org). We love you Papa and we'll miss you.
