Robert D. Hendricks

Robert (Pop) Hendricks, 86, of Spencerport, passed away peacefully on April 5th after a fiercely fought battle with cancer. He was born on September 27th, 1939 to Jack and Irene Hendricks. Bob and his wife Ellen were married on April 11th, 1959 and they share one daughter, Joan.

Bob was a staple in the Spencerport community as TV repairman, for which he took an online course to be certified in maintenance and repairs. He worked at Page Appliances where he fostered a lifelong connection with the Page family before serving the community through his own business, Ogden TV.

In his free time, Bob enjoyed riding motorcycles, hosting legendary parties, and tinkering around the house and in the garage. He also had a lifelong passion for aviation, spending nearly 100 hours piloting his own flights. In recent years, Bob most loved taking Keeko, his and Ellen’s beloved shih tzu, on walks through the neighborhood.

Bob is survived by his devoted wife Ellen, daughter Joan (Bob Scheuermann), son-in-law Robert Azzarone, brother John (Pat) Hendricks, grandchildren Justin (Kelly) Azzarone, Josh Scheuermann, Jake (Joleen) Scheuermann, Jess (Josh) Austin, and great-grandchildren Lani, Landon, Chase, and Indie, several nieces and nephews, and close cousins, John and Nancy and Barb and Larry. Bob also leaves behind dear friends and neighbors Ron, Peg, and Dick, and many others who will fondly remember his friendship.

Calling hours will be Monday, April 13 at New Comer Funeral Home at 2636 Ridgeway Avenuefrom 5 to 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, Bob’s family welcomes donations made to the Aurora House at 2495 S. Union St, Spencerport, NY 14559.
