It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bob Statt who left us peacefully at the age of 82 on September 23, 2025. Bob was born on May 11, 1943, and began his journey in life as a graduate of Edison Tech in 1961. He spent over 30 years serving the Rochester community, starting his career at Rochester Telephone as a lineman, eventually rising to the role of managing supervisor in the Coin Operations Department. After retiring from Frontier Telephone, Bob dedicated himself to the things that brought him the most joy and fulfillment.
Bob was passionate about his community, serving for many years as a volunteer fireman in Gates, NY Company 3. His commitment and leadership led him to the rank of Battalion Chief, a role he held with pride. Bob also found joy in music, singing for more than 40 years with the Barbershop Harmony Society. He cherished the time spent with his fellow chorus and quartet mates, competing and performing in local events around the Rochester area. His love for singing remained a constant throughout his life.
Bob’s greatest joy, however, was his family. He was a devoted husband to his high school sweetheart, Elaine, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage. Together, they raised three children and were blessed with six grandchildren. Bob cherished every moment spent with his family, whether it was fishing, camping, or attending his grandchildren’s concerts and events. His unwavering support and love for his family were a testament to the kind of man he was: loving, selfless, and always present.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, caregivers and friends who supported Bob during his recent illness.
