Robert J. Synder, born October 30, 1932, in Rochester, New York, passed away on March 26, 2026, at Strong Hospital. He was a Army Veteran and devoted professional, having worked many years as a draftsman for Local #46. Throughout his career, Robert demonstrated exemplary skill and dedication, earning the respect of his colleagues and the broader community.
A passionate model airplane builder, Robert found joy and fulfillment in this meticulous hobby, reflecting his commitment to precision and creativity both in and out of the workplace. His life was marked by service—both military and civilian—and a steadfast dedication to family.
Robert is survived by his daughter Karen Snyder, son John Snyder, and grandson Tyler. He is also remembered fondly by his nephews Dan and Rob, as well as his beloved cat, Maggie. The passing of Robert concludes a chapter that began with cherished family roots; he was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Ruth (Corwin) Snyder, his twin brother Wilbert (Bill) Snyder, and his wife Barbara, to whom he was married for 66 years until her death in 2021.
His burial service will take place on April 6, 2026, at White Haven Memorial Park, located at 210 Marsh Road in Pittsford, NY, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Robert was a man whose quiet strength, professional diligence, and personal kindness left an indelible mark on those who knew him. His memory will be honored by many who appreciated his unwavering character and his contributions to his family and community.
