Her life was a tapestry woven with kindness, laughter, dedication, and an unwavering love for family and friends.
A proud graduate of Franklin High School, Rosemary furthered her education by earning an Associate Degree in Secretarial Science at Monroe Community College. Her professional journey began at Genesee Hospital, culminating in a distinguished career as a Medical Librarian at Rochester General Hospital, where she retired after years of devoted service. Through her work, she touched many lives with her meticulous care and commitment to knowledge.
Rosemary’s personality was a beacon of warmth, kindness, and humor. She possessed a great sense of humor that brightened the days of everyone around her. She was not only loving but also deeply funny, always finding joy in the small moments and sharing that joy generously.
Her passions were as varied as they were vibrant. Rosemary found delight in baking with her family, creating masterpieces in the kitchen that brought everyone together. She was an artist at heart, indulging in crafts such as painting, embroidery, and sewing. Her love of the outdoors was evident in her frequent walks along the water and her attentive gardening, cultivating beauty and life with her own hands. Music nourished her soul, and she cherished attending concerts in the park. An avid reader and lifelong learner, Rosemary enjoyed researching new healthy trends, always eager to embrace life fully and healthfully.
Those who knew her best remember fondly the trips she took to unique places, each journey a testament to her curiosity and zest for new experiences. These memories, woven with laughter and love, live on in the hearts of her family.
Rosemary’s family was the center of her world. She is lovingly survived by her children: Pedro A. Ramirez (wife Aida), Nicoletta I. Hernandez (husband Alex), and Candice A. Santiago (husband Rafael). Her legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren: Joshua T. Ramirez (wife Adia), Eileen Hernandez, Lexy Hernandez, Nathaniel Chaves, Idalis Rivera-Ramirez, Marisol Rivera-Ramirez, Castiel Santiago, and Cailynn Santiago. She rejoiced in the presence of her great-grandchildren, Laylah Arabaty-Ramirez and Jibreel Arabaty-Ramirez, who brought light to her later years. Rosemary was also a treasured sister to Anita Landon, Victoria Morales, and Brenda Canute, and held a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews.
The family also remembers with tenderness those who preceded her in death: her parents, Viola Smith (Lippa) and Robert Smith, her stepmother Bernice Jamison, the father of her children, Pedro Ramirez Sr., and two cherished brothers-in-law. Their memories remain eternally intertwined with hers.
Rosemary Jean Ramirez’s life was a beautiful song of love, laughter, and devotion. Her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered—for her kindness that knew no bounds, her humor that warmed hearts, and the extraordinary love she shared with her family and friends.
