Rudolph P. "Rudy" Ruppert, age 93, of Greece, NY passed away peacefully Thursday, April 14, 2016.
Rudy's parents came to Rochester, NY when they emigrated from Hammelburg, Germany with Rudy and his sister, Ann, in 1927. He served in the Navy (Sampson Sailor) in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters during World War II from 1943 – 1946. He was stationed in Exeter, England and Guam. Rudy worked for Eastman Kodak, Bausch and Lomb and Rochester Products, a division of General Motors. He retired from GM in May, 1983 after 33 years in management as a plant security guard.
Predeceased by his loving parents, Adam and Rose Ruppert; beloved wife of 40 years, Grace J. Ruppert (Krest); stepson, George Peters III; brothers-in-law, Gary Krest, Robert Krest, Nick Krest, Jack Krest; sister-in-law, Bonnie Riddle; also several good friends and neighbors.
He is survived by his loving sister, Ann Usselman; loving sons, Erich (Linda) Ruppert Sr. and Matthew (Greta) Ruppert; stepson, Steven Peters; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Peters; grandchildren, Melisa, Janette, Michelle, Elena, Erich Jr., Alexander, Timothy and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Amirah, Cierra, Sabastian, Demi, Nadia, Kolby, Georgani, William and Rosie; great-great-grandson, Kingston; sisters-in-law, Sally Krest, Ann Kresovic, Mary Krest; brothers-in-law, Arch (Mary Lou) Krest, Joe Riddle; nephew, Errol (Barbara) Usselman; niece, Gail (Bernie) DeCamilla; also several good friends and neighbors.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 19th from 5-8 PM at the New Comer Family Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue. Interment in White Haven Memorial Park on Wednesday at 11 AM. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Greece Volunteer Ambulance Fund.
