Passed peacefully on Monday, November 6, 2006 at age 82. She kept her spirit and humor to the end. Predeceased by her husband, Patrick B. Whelehan I; brothers, George and John Nelson; sister, Beatrice Schmitt. She is survived by her children, Helen Whelehan of PA, Mary (William) Eckbreath of SC, Ruth (Norbert) Kiessel, Patrick B. Whelehan II of Rochester and George N. (Stewart MacLean) Whelehan of Canada; grandchildren, Ryan, Elizabeth, Patrick III, John, Christopher and Patricia; daughters-in-law, Kathy Whelehan and Noreen Whelehan; nieces, nephews, cousins and many warm and caring friends.
Ruth helped organize and officiated in the special summer olympics, officiated at many high school swimming events and past Niagara District Registration Chair Person. Ruth led a good and full life and was the best Mom anyone could ask for.
No prior calling hours. A Memorial Service will be determined at a later date.
