Predeceased by his loving wife of 73 years, Mary A. Salatino. Brother, Alphonse Salatino. Sisters, Pauline Gelardo, Delores Knight.
Survived by his son, Bruce M. Salatino. Granddaughters, Bethany Salatino, Hannah (Tim) Ferris and their mother, Linda Salatino. Great grandchildren, Matteo, Hazel and Quinn. Nieces Barb and Karla and nephews John (Jay) and Mark.
Sam was born and raised in Rochester, New York. He met the love of his life, Mary in 1943. Sam served in the army during WW2. After being honorably discharged, Sam and Mary got married in 1947. They were happily married for 73 years. He went on to get his masters degree in education at the University of Rochester. He worked as a school teacher for 30 years. He was a loving father to his son, Bruce. Sam was always the peacemaker in the family. He was an avid music lover and enjoyed singing, playing piano and guitar. Sam celebrated his 101st birthday this year. He lived a full and beautiful life.
The family will receive friends 10-12noon Thursday September 4, 2025 at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. (west of Long Pond Rd.) A funeral service will follow visitation in the chapel of the funeral home at 12noon. Inurnment Irondequoit Cemetery at 1pm. Full military honors by the US Army for Sam's dedicated service to his country.
