Sera La Spino

Passed away on September 26, 2025 at the age of 71.

Predeceased by her parents, Filippo & Serafina Iacono; grandson, Gabriel James La Spino.

She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, James La Spino; children, Ann Marie (Craig Muckle) MacDonald, Melissa (Andre) Belpanno, Brittany La Spino, & Phillip La Spino; grandchildren, Anthony, Brendan, Colin, Teaghan, Cameron, Vincenza, Dawson, Rowan, & Olivianna; sisters, Ann Marie (Joe) Winder & Marlene (Vincent) Merzacco; aunt, Carmela Salemi; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sera was a woman whose love filled every corner of the lives she touched. She was nurturing, strong, funny, generous, selfless, and endlessly loving—a true force of nature who gave of herself fully and unconditionally.

Sera was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, and friend. Family was the center of her world, and she expressed her love openly and often. She laughed loudly, hugged tightly, and made sure those around her knew just how cherished they were.

She had a curious mind and a heart for simple joys. Sera loved classic movies, vintage TV shows, reading, crosswords, and losing herself in music—from Chopin to Italian songs to the sounds of Tony’s Polka Band on Dyngus Day. She loved her Sicilian heritage, the ocean, seafood, traveling by train, and road trips filled with adventure. She found delight in musicals and craft shows, and in every season of life, she sought out beauty, laughter, and togetherness.

Her intelligence, determination, and hard work were matched only by her deep loyalty and generosity. Sera lived life with a rare blend of grace and grit, leaving behind a legacy of love, humor, and memories that will be carried on by all who knew her.

To know Sera was to feel her affection and warmth, and to be reminded of what it means to love with your whole heart. She was unique and unforgettable, and her presence in our lives was the greatest gift.

Family will receive friends 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm Thursday, October 2, 2025 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue.
