Sheryl D. Bower

Sheryl D. Bower, age 59, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.

Sheryl was born in Rochester, NY, to her mother, the late Frances (Haynes) Fleischhauer, and survived by her father Donald (Arlene) Fleischhauer. She is survived by her children, Matthew (Joann), Timothy (Stephanie) Bower and Sarah (Robert) Lee. She is also survived by her brothers, Glenn (Bonnie) and Keith (Vickie) Fleischhauer, and her sisters Julie (Bob) Olesky, Terry (Rick) Bower, and Donna (Sonny Veal) Lynch; her grandchildren Timmy, Austin and Ashley Bower, and Jordan, Julius, Styles, and Robert Lee, Jr.; her sister-in-law Lena (Don Frederick) Bower, and her companion and friend Ken Kress. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Sheryl is predeceased by Mike Bower, father of her children.

Sheryl attended school in Hilton, NY, and graduated from Hilton High School in 1972. She was a caring and compassionate nurse in the Rochester area throughout most of her life. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends. Sheryl loved any type of flower and there was always a fresh bouquet somewhere in her home. Sheryl will be remembered for her contagious laugh, her courageous spirit, and will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Lifetime Assistance for their kindness and excellent care Sheryl received during her illness, and for the outpouring of love and support from family and friends.

Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, July 23rd from 4-7 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue, where her Funeral Ceremony will be celebrated following the Calling Hours at 7PM.
