Rochester: Monday, April 16, 2012 age 85. She was predeceased by her husband, Victor and sister, Catherine Borshansky. She is survived by her daughter, Renee DeMyda; 3 great-nephews, Scott (Doris), Steven (Jennifer) and Dennis (Jessica) Smith; 1 great-niece, Cathryn Smith; 3 great-great-nieces; and 7 great-great-nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Staff of Kirkhaven Nursing Home for the love and compassion given to Sophie during her stay.
The family will receive friends Thursday, April 19th 4-8 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. Sophie's Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 9:30 AM at St. Stanislaus Church, 1124 Hudson Ave. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Assoc.
