Steven T. McCann

Steven T. McCann, born July 8, 1983, passed away suddenly at home on March 18, 2026. His unexpected departure has left a profound void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Steven was a man who treasured the simple pleasures in life. He found joy in spending time with his loved ones, particularly cherishing moments spent pal-ing around with his brother Jimmy. His passion for football, especially his unwavering support for his favorite team, the San Francisco 49ers, was a well-known part of his vibrant character. Beyond his love for sports, Steven also enjoyed hunting and camping, embracing the outdoors and the peace it brought him.

His devotion to his family was a cornerstone of his life. Steven loved his children deeply—his son, Steven T. McCann Jr., and daughter, Alana McCann—as well as his mother, Kathleen McCann. The bonds he shared with his brother James McCann and nephew Tyler McCann were filled with warmth and affection. Family gatherings often included many aunts, uncles, and close friends who were equally touched by his kindness and generosity.

Steven was preceded in death by his father, James R. McCann, whose memory he held dear. The legacy of love and strength fostered by his parents remained evident throughout Steven’s life.

A visitation with family will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, located at 2636 Ridgeway Ave, Rochester, NY 14626. This gathering will offer friends and family an opportunity to honor Steven’s memory and celebrate a life well-lived.

Though Steven’s time with us was unexpectedly brief, his spirit endures in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him. His love for his family, his simple joys, and his dedication to those around him will forever be remembered with great respect and affection.
