Susan J. Wrue

It is with heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved Susan Jankowiak Wrue, 86, on Wednesday, September 30th 2026. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. Susan is survived by her loving husband, Richard J. Wrue; her children, Steven Wrue (Michelle), David Wrue, and Peter Wrue (the late Rachael Wrue); and her grandchildren, Nicole Wrue, Melissa Wrue, and Mackenzie Wrue. She was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Julia Jankowiak and her sister, Dorothy Janokwiak.

Susan was born on Tuesday, March 26, 1940, and lived a full life centered around her family and her interests. She had a passion for real estate, working for various real estate companies over the years, was a fast typist and knew the lost art of shorthand. She also thoroughly enjoyed the excitement of playing the stock market and was an avid reader; she could almost always be found with a newspaper catching up on the latest news. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, and bowling and she had a special place in her heart for animals. 

Above all else, Susan loved her family. She shared 63 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Richard. Together, they built a beautiful life, and Susan dedicated much of her time and heart to raising their three boys, who were her pride and joy. 

Calling Hours will be held on Sunday, October 4th, at New Comer Westside Chapel (2636 Ridgeway Ave, Rochester, NY 14626) from 1:00-3:00 pm, and her Service will be held on Monday October 5th, at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church (2400 W Ridge Rd. Rochester, NY 14626) at 11:00 am. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Lollypop Farm.
