Suzanne M. Goungo

Passed away peacefully on August 30, 2026, at the age of 78.

Suzanne was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Tina Jensen; her parents, Stanley Sr. and Santina Fox; her brother, Stanley Fox Jr.; and her nephew, Ted Knickerbocker Jr.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Andrew Goungo; her children, Mark (Karen) Brockman, Andrew (Kelly) Goungo Jr., Dominica Goungo, Nancy Torres, Angela Goungo, and Deborah Goungo ; her sister, Deborah (Ted Sr.) Knickerbocker; as well as many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless others whose lives were touched by her love and kindness.

Suzanne had a heart that was always open and a home that welcomed everyone. She was known for being a loving mother not only to her own children, but to all of the neighborhood kids who seemed to find their way through her door. There was always room for one more at her table, always something cooking in the kitchen, and no one ever left her home hungry. Whether she was sharing a meal, a cup of coffee, or simply her time, Suzanne had a beautiful way of making everyone feel loved and cared for.

A lover of coffee, a good book, and cooking for the people she loved, Suzanne found joy in life's simple pleasures. She was a hardworking woman who gave so much of herself to others—but if there was one thing she did even more than work hard, it was love hard. Her family was truly the joy of her life, and she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren beyond measure.

Suzanne will be remembered for her generous heart, her open door, her warm kitchen, and the love she so freely gave. The memories she created around family, food, laughter, and togetherness will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue, where her Memorial Service will immediately follow at 6:00 p.m.
