Thomas C. Rich, 82, loving husband, father and grandfather, died peacefully on Thursday, July 24, 2025, in Rochester, NY. He received the "Anointing Of The Sick" from Father Nwosu ("Father Eloo") and was thankful for this Sacrament, it gave him Peace.
Tom was born in Rochester, NY on August 4, 1942 and spent his childhood with his loving parents and two beloved brothers. He attended Jefferson High School as a three sport athlete in track, cross country, and baseball. Afterwards, he attended Cornell University and later transferred to Rochester Institute of Technology where he received his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Tom married the love of his life, Donna Wirth, on May 22, 1965 in Rochester, NY. He proudly worked at Eastman Kodak Company for 30+ years as a Budget and Finance Manager for the Paperbox Division. Upon retirement, he pursued a second career as a real estate agent for Nothnagle Realtors.
Tom cherished spending time with his family, sitting down to a good home cooked meal, and laughing over a good joke with Donna. He would often be found relaxing in his favorite chair while watching television late into the night. He was known to be a very good dancer, loved listening to his extensive music collection, and you would often catch him driving around in his convertible on a cool summer night.
A devoted fan of the NY Yankees and the Buffalo Bills, Tom loved cheering on his beloved teams and analyzing the latest game. His favorite memories included annual trips to see the NY Yankees with his mother Amy. He often shared tales about personally meeting several of his favorite Yankee players at local pubs after the games. Tom was an avid bowler for over 60 years and owned an extensive bowling ball collection. He enjoyed playing softball and had a true talent for playing first base. He had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed traveling with Donna to places such as Hawaii. Tom cared deeply for his wife of 60 years and two daughters. He took great joy in spending time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his loyalty, zest, and endearing spirit.
Tom is survived by his devoted wife, Donna (Wirth) Rich; daughters, Debra (Rich) Stauber and Christine (Rich) Biehler; son-in-laws, Scott Stauber and Kurt Biehler; grandchildren, Shealyn Stauber, Justin Stauber, Cassandra Biehler, and Kaiden Biehler; brother, Clark Rich; sister-in-law, Sharon (Wise) Rich; several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph F. Rich and Amy E. (Holcomb) Rich; and brother Joseph W. Rich.
A private family funeral service and interment will be held at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery under the direction of New Comer Cremations & Funerals. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
